The Roots of Our Work

Rooted Access grew out of nearly a decade of experience in fair housing, civil rights, and community development work across the Midwest. After serving as an Equal Opportunity Specialist with HUD and later as Associate Director at High Plains Fair Housing Center, I launched Rooted Access to help cities, developers, and nonprofit organizations build stronger, more equitable housing systems.

Currently, I’m partnering with High Plains to provide outreach and technical assistance in North Dakota, and I’m supporting the City of Fargo in reviewing and strengthening fair housing policies across its HUD-funded housing portfolio. Rooted Access was created to bring together lived experience, policy expertise, and community values to ensure that access to housing leads to access to opportunity.

When you work with me, you can expect a thoughtful, collaborative approach grounded in both compliance and compassion. I meet partners where they are, help simplify complex requirements, and tailor solutions that make equity not just a goal, but part of the process.
